Doing some character development on an ongoing project of mine… I like revisiting something I’ve started years ago and updating the designs even slightly. It recharges my feelings for an idea and pushes me to keep developing on it.
One of my recent projects was to create the painted background art for Netflix original movie Over the Moon’s line of dolls by Mattel. It was a great project and if you haven’t seen the movie, what are you waiting for!
Lately I’ve been having some fun with creating popular character MashUps and posting them on my Instagram page (@anthonyconleyart). I ask my followers which MashUps they’d like to see and then select a few suggestions to create.
Coming from the world of consumer products, I’d often get tasked with creating fun, new ways to interpret character art and interesting ways to use them graphically.
These are a few images from an illustrated book that my wife and I created for my mother-in-law. She is a legendary percussionist and her story needed to be told 🙂
