When I was a kid, I always thought of Walt Disney Studios as the epitome of artistic success. I wanted to be an illustrator and working for Disney was the goal. In 1989 I remember looking through a magazine and seeing a promo for the rebirth of Disney feature animation, The Little Mermaid. This film brought back the animation industry as a force to be reckoned with and it was exciting! 14 year old me would have geeked out to know that here I am now, illustrating Disney characters and dozens of other properties as my full time gig!
The box art/pack art for Neopets The Void Within TCG set by Upper Deck is making the rounds on the internet and I’m excited to share the key art of the character, Nyx that I illustrated for the set.
Collector Club UK: Upper Deck has revealed The Void Within, an upcoming booster set for the Neopets Battledome TGC. This expansion is set to arrive in November 2025, inviting players into a tale of redemption, friendship, and unity as Neopia faces a dark and mysterious threat.

My wife and daughter are huge Pokemon fans. For years they’ve been collecting cards, playing Pokemon Go, and even collecting digital card sets. I collaborated with my wife to create a custom character that’s one of a kind. She’s named it the Lizziemente. Below this art is a Psychic Type custom character I collaborated with my daughter on. It’s a Ghost Fox yet to be named. I kinda like the name Voxx
A new idea is manifesting in my brain and these are some of the characters springing up from my imagination.

Doing some character development on an ongoing project of mine… I like revisiting something I’ve started years ago and updating the designs even slightly. It recharges my feelings for an idea and pushes me to keep developing on it.
One of my recent projects was to create the painted background art for Netflix original movie Over the Moon’s line of dolls by Mattel. It was a great project and if you haven’t seen the movie, what are you waiting for!
Lately I’ve been having some fun with creating popular character MashUps and posting them on my Instagram page (@anthonyconleyart). I ask my followers which MashUps they’d like to see and then select a few suggestions to create.
Coming from the world of consumer products, I’d often get tasked with creating fun, new ways to interpret character art and interesting ways to use them graphically.
